In town for a basketball game & needed some caffeine for the 4 hour drive. Stopped in twice throughout the weekend & got quality cappuccinos both times. Baristas were so kind and the space is lovely. Could stay here and get some work done or just pop in! Pastries looked incredible- just didn’t indulge this trip! Thanks for fueling our trip y’all! We’ll be back!
This was our 2nd (of course won’t be last) visit. Alan is an awesome owner and his staff is great! He always makes us feel like family and my son loves his shop and their “snowball” fights. We can’t wait to be back when we’re in town next!
I went with friends and all of us enjoyed our drinks. This is the third time we’ve gone to Word and it never disappoints. The staff is always super-friendly and the pastries are so good too! Very laid back atmosphere. My friends got two of the drinks from the spring menu and I ordered a latte with vanilla, honey and cardamom.
Such a great coffee shop! The service is always great and there are lots of seating options. I think it may be one of the only coffee shops in the area that doesn’t up charge for alternative milks, such a plus! I haven’t tried the food but it always looks yummy!
I came here to study and read in a comfortable, friendly environment and was given exactly that! I tried their almond cream cheese danish and it was spectacular. The staff here is worth the utmost praise, they're so fun and friendly to talk to! Lastly I will warn that parking here is a challenge. The parking is quite tight, but there are a couple 15 minute parking spots up front if you're intending to take your order to go.
If you haven’t been yet, don’t hesitate! Such a good vibe, people are friendly and the coffee is great. Special shout out to Riley for taking the time to talk shop and the awesome pour over... he really enhanced the experience.
TLDR: stop reading and come here, you will not be disappointed. The most artfully brewed espresso I've found in nwa. The list: I've been to darn near every coffee shop in Fay-town, and I can say with absolute objectivity that Word is the best. Usually you either get good specialty drinks or good straight espresso at a shop, but here they absolutely nail both. The coffee: Our order: fig vanilla cap, perfect pear, Honduras espresso blend, gyubin espresso blend. The specialty drinks are the perfect amount of eclectic without being overbearing. Instead of cloyingly sweet Monin / Torani syrup bombs be prepared to experience thoughtfully balanced creations that provide bold and unique flavor profiles while somehow letting the coffee still shine through. Pair this with immaculately pulled espresso and I don't know that they can be beaten. The service: The owner came to our table and discussing the tasting notes of our espresso flight with us. The service was beyond reproach. The vibe: Cozy modern minimalism. Hip, clean and warm without feeling antiseptic.
